Going down the street

Cora's friend Presley, from Miss Aimee's, lives about 10 houses down.Presley is 4 and has been juggling play dates for months; she's totally indoctrinated Cora. Presley. Kate. Taylor and Turner. Calvert. Gabe and (I always forget Gabe's twin sister's name).

We feel fortunate - it's only been a few months, but we've feel like we've moved to the perfect place to raise our children.

Presley's brother, Foster, is in Quinn's  daycare class. They love each other.

Here, Quinn was attacking him with kisses.

Quinn caught the big kids out of the jump tonight; she loved it!

Cora got put in time-out today. She was pretty mad. All the sudden, she stopped crying. I peeked my head around the corner. No more tears because baby sister had come to sit in the corner next to her. What pals.

Cora's started to love putting my hot rollers back in the case for me every morning. Here, she was trying to teach Quinny how to do it. (they're obviously cool by the time I put this case in the floor like this, and we've talked a lot about not touching until asking Mommy if they are hot!).

I caught this napping moment. It warmed my heart. Landon's hat is from Monroe Muffler out of Rochester. It immediately became a family favorite when I returned from Rochester with it.

I love Quinn. Quinn loves Briggedy.

Cora has mastered her bicycle this summer (with training wheels). She is intense peddling down the street.

Our new car has headphones to watch movies. For weeks, Quinny just didn't have volume. Her face was so cute when Landon finally let her have headphones.

The kid's museum is open late on Tuesday's. Since Landon is in class, I've gotten in habit of taking kids and going frequently. Our first try was with Cora, Quinn, Ali, & Presley - HUGE success. Everybody played so well together. They all came on my pass, and people clearly thought all 4 of these girls were mine.

Cora and Quinn have become constant playmates. I have to play referee some, but once Quinn is fully able to use all of the art supplies and once choking hazards are no longer an issue, I think these two will have a ton of fun.

I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream!

Quinn and Cora both love the big front windows, low enough where they can see out easily. Quinn often stands here, and at the windows in my bedroom, checking out the neighborhood. She's the Shellpoint "Watcher".

Landon bought this tricycle several years ago. He envisioned the basket carrying a cooler; it's become the girls' favorite way to ride in style. We're doing trike rides around the neighborhood nearly everyday.

Our front porch swing is so special. My grandfather made a handful of these swings nearly 20 years ago (that's hard to believe). One is on Grandma Iris's porch. One is at my parent's house. One is on Mary's porch. And two hung on Aunt Jen and Uncle Tim's porch at their old house. I love Jen & Tim for many reasons; another is how immediately they offered this swing to me, with a promise to save the other for Matt when he has a porch that calls for one. I love this front porch swing. I love that it's sturdy, and is worth investing in refinishing. I love that Jen & Tim passed it down to us. And I love that it was crafted by Papaw Dennis. It is perfect.

Cora & Quinn with Foster. He is quiet the lady's man.

Home :)
