Two really is more than one

Two is more than one. We're busier. I feel like since I've returned to work I'm burning the midnight oil more than ever (so is Landon). We have more laundry, more food to prepare, more dishes, more baths to give, more diapers to change, more toys to clean-up, more hugs needed and more tears to dry.

There's never been more laughter in our house. In fact, there's never been more laughter in our lives.

There's never been less time to update our blog :)

A few pics from the past few weeks.

With Quinn at 5 weeks, Landon headed to DC for Kevin's wedding. I had Sara's wedding the next week in Kentucky, so my dad drove to South Carolina to drive Cora, Quinn, and I to spend the week in Kentucky, keeping me from navigating life with two children by myself for a whole weekend. I am lucky to have such wonderful parents! Mia got Cora a gardening set for Easter. Papaw Jim patiently filled her watering can, letting her water the plants again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.

Cora's watering must have done somehting right. That's a tomato growing there! I've planted jalapenos, sweet peppers, bell peppers, squash, asparagus, blue potatoes, and one strawberry plant. Landon says if we freeze everything that grows this summer, Landon predicts that we'll have enough food for one whole meal in September. This pic was taken 3 weeks ago. That tomato still isn't red...
The difference between Cora & Quinn:
We drove 22 hours total going to Kentucky, then to Northern Kentucky for the wedding, and then back to South Carolina. Quinn slept the ENTIRE time the car was moving. Cora slept 45 minutes each way. We survived.

It wouldn't be a visit from Papaw Jim without bubbles!

We're getting better! Quinn might be screaming her head off, but look at Cora's hand. She's actually touching her in this picture, and trying to comfort her. Off camera, Cora is a super-caring binky-delivering blanket-covering mother's helper... but as soon as we pull out the camera and try to get them to pose, Cora goes into "hands-up-I-will-not-touch-her-don't-ask-me-to-touch-her" mode. From the looks of this picture, Quinn prefers it that way...

These St. Louis Cards outfit were delivered from St. Louis via Grandma M. Landon loves them! Cora looks super cute in the oversized dress - like she belongs in "A League of Their Own"
Happy baby. Quinn no longer grins - she beams. She tucks her little chin against her chest, stretches out her arms, and squeals when something makes her happy. And all it usually takes to make her happy is a face, any face, in her line of vision. Her little smile makes my heart somersault.
Cora slipped on Landon's post-run footy socks (GROSS!!!) like knee socks, then pranced around in his shoes (they're new, so not super stinky). The look on her face was genuine - she totally knew she was funny.

"Look! Airplane! Up!" On some days, our house is in the airport's circling path. On those days, we leap up, grab Cora, and run outside every few minutes looking for the passing jet. When we are inside and she hears one passing, her cute little finger pops straight up in the air.
