It's happened. Cora has discovered candy. Jelly beans. Skittles. Gummies. Marshmellows. We managed to escape halloween, got by Christmas with only a few tiny tiny pinches of fudge, but Easter snuck up on us.
Cora had an Easter Egg hunt at school, with a visit from the Easter Bunny.
I loved three things about the hunt:
1. Cora wasn't terrified by the Easter Bunny.
2. She kind of got in to the "egg-hunting" routine (once she saw what her good friend Dane was doing. I'm telling you - she's been running with the boys at school).
3. I had Quinn with me, too. Anytime any other kid approached her (she was in her carrier sitting on the floor for a few minutes), Cora hopped up and came running, screaming, "no no no no no". That's so funny, because we've NEVER yelled "no no no" when Cora approaches Quinn. Cora was clearly being protective of her baby sister.
Some other pics from the party...
Cora was a little hesitant about the bunny, but her good friend Dane was not. Dane is ALL boy, and he's got the stalky build of a little football player, but he is the classic gentle giant. He is so sweet.
Cora treats Quinn's papason chair (technically formerly Cora's papason chair) as if it is her personal recliner.
Grandma M sent Cora an Easter Basket - Cora discovered candy this Easter. She's figuring out that the brighter the color, the better the taste, so when she sees something that LOOKS like candy, she gets really ansy. She also had some trouble tellin the difference between the marshmellows (sent from Grandma M) and the packing peanuts (also sent from Grandma M). It was really funny!
An outfit for Quinn came on a hanger - Cora got really excited. She loves to walk around the house with hangers.
Cora had on Landon's t-shirt. It's a little big.
We broke out the sprinkler and baby pool on Sunday. Landon and I started out running through the sprinkler to show her how. We both took off, leaping and squealing, being over dramatic to show her how. She followed... but refused to run through the sprinkler. She ran parallel to the sprinkler, staying on the outside, but squealing and leaping just the same.
She made it all the way through the house in these shoes. Such a girl.
I took this pic to show our house in the A.M. When we woke up 45 minutes earlier, the house was ENTIRELY straightened. Somehow, only a few minutes later, toys and shoes were everywhere and there was a tricycle in the foyer.
We tried to get a pic of Cora & Quinn together, but she was having nothing to do with it.
This pic cracks me up!
Erin & the pope. I loved this pic.
Farmer's Market Saturday. 2 hours past naptime. You can't see it very clearly here, but Landon's facial expression totally said "Yes, I've walked all the way across Marion Square carrying a squirming Cora and dragging a stroller behind..."
