Polishing the Pearly Whites

Cora's first trip to the dentist.
She was a but hesitant at first...

But hygienist Sara was perfect, trained her how to use all the tools, and then coaxed her into the chair-ride.

She was the perfect patient.

It didn't hurt that Dr. Mandy (Presley's mom) was the dentist :)
We're having cupcakes for Foster's birthday after work today. That'll get all the clean off outlets teeth!

A few ECDC oldies but goodies

One of Cora's friend's moms sent me these pics -
Certainly worth keeping!
We're making great memories at ECDC.

Sona, Cora, and Luca. Spring 2014. Seashells.

Sona's birthday party.
November 2013

A family pic. Cora looks so petite here! This is back when she would let me put her hair up in dog ears. She told me the other day that she just doesn't like dog ears because she is 3; she'll let me do it again when she is 4. Dog ears are for bigger girls. Who knew?!?!

She currently wants a braid every day, thanks to Princess Elsa (Princess Elsa is SUCH a brat, BTW. Disney needs to be told to stop making princesses that aren't that nice to their sisters for the majority of the movie. And to make princess hairstyles that busy mommies can accomplish every single day!!!).

Cora's art (and Quinn's too)

Lauren Foster (one of our 3 amazing Lauren babysitters) kept C and Q Saturday night. Aside from making her argument for why we should name baby #3 Lauren... She showed us this art. Q went to bed early; Cora and Lauren sat next to each other and did this:

There is a lot of art happening at our house this summer. Today, this Hello Kitty backpack.

I'm getting full commentary right now on what color is being selected and why. "Mom let's color the edge of her face pink... Like she's getting a BiG face painting".

I pulled these figures out of a box yesterday. Honestly, this year has been so wonderfully chaotic (new house, Landon was still in school, work was busy, new neighbors to play with, I tgot preggers) that I hadn't unpacked a few boxes still in the guest room. I remedied that Saturday. When these Hallmark figures came out, Cora said, "Oh Mommy I love these! We just need to draw them eyes a nose and a mouth". If these get decorated, you know who did it.

I'm writing in real time... Landon is in kitchen and just said, "nuts! I keep meaning to have you order nuts".
I said, "ah man! I just put in my Harris Teeter order". Cora just said, "you should say, 'what in the whiskers' but 'ah man' is ok to say, too". Callie's Wild West is a favorite around here, if you aren't tuned into disney.

Since I'm in real time here's an update of Cora's bag. The set only came with green pink and yellow... Cora wanted brown so she told me she was using green then pink to make brown.

Lo and behold, it worked.

Quinn's bag.

Good summer morning from the Messal house.

ECDC seashell play date

Yep, those are ladybug rainboots on Qs feet. That's what she wore to the beach Friday. Technically she can't walk well in flops, so I think her rainboots choice was a good one.

I tried to get them to pose, but Cora said she was in a hurry to get her "little one" to school.
 Then they posed.

And danced.

Linda with Sona.

Jared with Jack (expecting twin baby brothers also to appear in August)

Me and my girls (plus Sona for one of these pics - I'll take her! So cute!!!)!
Of course Quinny is having a snack. "I'll have a snack NOW!" she says as soon as we arrive at the pool or beach).

Cora was getting over posing by this point.

By the way... Cora drew this on her own. It's a whale.

Quinn-isms

This week:

"Ah man. No fair!"

Every "yes" or "no" is preceded by "uhhhh".

Example 1
Me: Quinn, you want to go play with big girls?
Quinn: Uhhhh... Yeah!

Example 2:
Me: Quinn, you need to go potty?
Quinn: uhhhh, no.

She's on repeat with the bumble bee song:
Won't my mommy be proud of me!?

Potty trained Quinny!

Q potty trained this week!
She's a rock star at going #1 :)
Very few accidents, most of them we earned.

She also trained her baby dolls to potty this week.
