The search is on

Her fingers are so close to going into her mouth. At first we thought that she was going for her hands when hungry, but I am convinced she does it when she is getting sleepy. Usually right before her eyes finally close, she goes for her hands. She does a pretty good job of getting her fists up there, but hasn't figured out how to open her thumb or fingers to suck on.

We've managed thus far to not give her a binky... hopefully she will find her own natural binky before we have to give in!

She may have done it before, but I can't remember it. This is the first time I've seen her pull her clothes into her mouth.

A little mad here... I think that she was really looking for her fingers.

Finally getting to meet Joann! They were in love at first sight with each other.

This time she found what she was looking for.

She found the bird mobile over her crib this week.

Getting some sunshine and visiting the neighbors.

Cheri gives good cuddles!

Big E and Cora in their hoodies. It was that kind of Saturday around here. Cora did the James Island Connector 10K with us --- if there had of been a "stroller division" Cora and Landon would have won it.

Turning on the "Christmas" at the Messal house

I've never decorated this early before, but we kicked off the holiday celebrations by pulling out the Dickens Village and turning on some Christmas music. In a few years, this will be a big event for Cora. She was happy this year just watching us pull out the boxes.

Fussy Cora = Daddy Naptime

Landon really hates it when she is fussy on the weekends...

He especially hates it when he is forced to lay on the couch with her for several hours straight and watch football. Doesn't he look miserable here?

Cora's 2 Month Update

She's smiling and responding to noises.
She's cooing and squealing.
She is grabbing the rings and rattles on her playmats.
We have a 2 month old baby.

Happy 2 month birthday to our baby girl! What a happy two months it has been!

Daddy and Cora waiting for Mommy to get home!

PS - Landon just reminded me that today is Pearl's 6 month birthday. Update: she is (mostly) housebroken.

Daddy's Home!

It is like groundhog day around here...

Hot Tamale!

One of Landon's favorite recipes this summer was stuffed tamales.

I took a dozen tamale or jalapeno peppers and split them down the middle, scraping most of the seeds out. I blended cream cheese with some cucumbers and onions, and spooned them into the split tamales. I wrapped each one with a piece of bacon. What made this recipe delicious? The stuffing, definitely!

Our Halloween Tamale was the same. The stuffing made this tamale irresistable!

And here we have a Cor-A-Lantern!

Boo! Boo Daddy! Boo!

I vant to bite your neck!

And finally, yes, Cora, you are wickedly cute!
